2D/1N Hike Second Summit Rinjani

Overview

This 2-day trek takes you through the lush tropical forest of Senaru, up to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m), and further to the Second Summit of Rinjani at 2,963 meters. From here, enjoy panoramic sunrise views of Mount Rinjani’s main peak, Lake Segara Anak, and the Gili Islands in the distance — without the extreme challenge of reaching the true summit.

Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival – Transfer to Senaru – Optional Waterfall Tour

• Pick-up from anywhere in Lombok (airport, Senggigi, Mataram, Kuta, Bangsal, etc.)

• Private transfer to Senaru village (3–4 hours)

• Check-in at your accommodation in Senaru (included)

• Arrival before 3:00 PM? Enjoy a guided tour to Sendang Gile & Tiu Kelep Waterfalls (entrance ticket + guide included)

• Dinner at the guesthouse included

• Evening briefing and gear check with your mountain guide

• Overnight stay in Senaru

Day 1: Senaru – Crater Rim Camp (2,641m)

• Breakfast at your accommodation

• Start trekking from Senaru around 7:30 AM

• Hike through tropical rainforest; rest at Pos 1 and Pos 2

• Lunch served at Pos 2 or 3

• Continue through open savanna towards the crater rim

• Reach Senaru Crater Rim around 4:00–5:00 PM

• Enjoy stunning views of Segara Anak Lake and Mount Rinjani’s summit

• Dinner and overnight camping at the crater rim

Day 2: Second Summit – Return to Senaru – Drop-off

• Wake up at 3:30 AM with light breakfast and hot drinks

• Start the early morning hike to the Second Summit (2,963m)

  • Trekking time: ±2 hours up and 1 hour down

  • Trail: sandy and rocky, but less technical than the main summit

• Reach the top before sunrise (around 5:30–6:00 AM)

• Enjoy panoramic sunrise views: Mount Rinjani, Segara Anak Lake, Sumbawa, Bali, and the Gili Islands

• Return to camp for full breakfast

• Pack and descend through the same forest trail

• Lunch en route

• Arrive back in Senaru around 1:30–2:30 PM

• Quick shower and rest

• Drop-off to your next destination in Lombok

6. The remaining balance can be paid by cash only on arrival in Lombok or in advance.
