4D/3N Lombok Volcano Hike Via Sembalun

Overview

This 4D3N trek is the most complete and scenic experience of Mount Rinjani. It starts from Sembalun savanna, climbs to the summit (3,726m), passes through Segara Anak Lake and hot springs, then ends in the peaceful Torean village, known for its lush canyon views, waterfalls, and less challenging descent.

Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival – Transfer to Senaru – Optional Waterfall Tour

• Pick-up from anywhere in Lombok (airport, Bangsal, Senggigi, Mataram, Kuta, etc.)

• Private transfer to Senaru village (3–4 hours)

• Check-in at your accommodation (included)

• Arrive before 3:00 PM? Enjoy a guided tour to Sendang Gile & Tiu Kelep Waterfalls (guide + entrance ticket included)

• Dinner at the accommodation included

• Evening briefing and equipment check with your mountain guide

• Overnight stay in Senaru

Day 1: Senaru – Drive to Sembalun – Trek to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m)

• Early breakfast

• Private transfer to Sembalun village (1,156m) – ±45 mins

• Registration at the Rinjani National Park office

• Start trekking around 8:00 AM

• Walk through savanna, rest at Pos 1, Pos 2, and Pos 3

• Lunch served at Pos 2 or 3

• Steep climb to Sembalun Crater Rim Camp

• Arrive around 4:30–5:30 PM

• Sunset views over the lake and summit

• Dinner and overnight in tents at the rim

Day 2: Summit – Segara Anak Lake – Hot Springs

• Wake up at 2:30 AM for the summit attempt

• Light breakfast (tea/coffee and biscuits)

• Start summit climb at 3:00 AM (±3–4 hrs up, 2 hrs down)

• Reach Mount Rinjani Summit (3,726m) before sunrise

• Stunning sunrise views of Lombok, Sumbawa, Bali

• Return to camp for full breakfast

• Trek down to Segara Anak Lake (±2.5–3 hours)

• Lunch at the lake

• Relax and soak in the natural hot springs

• Dinner and overnight camping by the lake

Day 3: Lake – Torean Trail – Camp at Propok Waterfall Area

• Breakfast at the lake

• Begin trek toward Torean village via a scenic canyon route

• Pass by waterfalls, lush green walls, and riverside trails

• Lunch en route

• Afternoon arrive at Propok Campsite, a beautiful area near a natural waterfall

• Set up camp and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere

• Dinner and overnight in tents

Day 4: Propok – Torean Village – Drop-off

• Breakfast with views of the canyon

• Continue descending along the Torean trail (less steep and easier on the knees)

• Pass natural scenery: Goa Susu (Milk Cave), Air Terjun Penimbungan (Penimbungan Waterfall)

• Lunch along the way

• Arrive at Torean Village around 2:00–3:00 PM depending on group speed

• Drop-off to your next destination in Lombok

6. The remaining balance can be paid by cash only on arrival in Lombok or in advance.
